It was announced 8 years ago during E3. However, all traces of the Watch Dogs film had been somewhat lost. Years after that summer of 2016, some new information finally emerges. The Deadline portal provides some indiscretion and claims to have become aware of the negotiations between New Regency (the company that will produce the film) and Sophie Wilde, intending to become the protagonist of the film.
Watch Dogs becomes a film. Sophie Wilde possible protagonist
Sophie Wilde in a scene from Talk to Me
We got to see the actress in action just recently. On the big screen she played Mia in the 2022 horror Talk to Me, produced by A24 (the same company that will produce the Death Stranding film). Wilde is now said to be in talks to play the lead role in the film set in the Watch Dogs narrative universe.
Just as the Death Stranding film will not follow the story of Sam Porter, the Watch Dogs film should not follow the story of Aiden Pearce, but rather some other character. The director is Mathieu Turi (Hostile), while the screenplay is entrusted to Christie LeBlanc (Oxygen).
The video game series published by Ubisoft has three chapters. The first, released in 2014, focuses on the story of Chicago hacker Aiden Pearce. The second, dated 2016, takes us to San Francisco with Marcus Holloway. With Watch Dogs: Legion, 2020, we move to London where we will play a member of the local detachment of DedSec, a small hacker organization.
