This year, the Apple Watch will celebrate its 10th anniversary. In ten years, connected watches have evolved a lot. While the first models were sold as miniaturized versions of smartphones, including with games available on their tiny screens, uses have changed a lot in the meantime.
Today, the main uses put forward for connected watches are those relating to sports activity monitoring or health. An increasing number of sensors are thus integrated, with GPS tracking for outdoor sports, and monitoring of oxygen saturation in the blood to know if you are breathing well enough.
Connected watches can also find their use in applications for those who still use them on a daily basis. This could be the case, for example, of navigation on Google Maps or quite simply contactless payment. Finally, for some, displaying notifications on the wrist, without having to take your smartphone out of your pocket, is a use that alone justifies wearing a connected watch.
What is your main use for a connected watch?
Precisely, in this state of affairs, where are you located, if you wear a connected watch? Do you wear it mainly for monitoring sports, health, notifications or do you go so far as to use certain applications? Tell us by voting in our poll of the week.
