Kingmakers it's one of those games that have such crazy ideas that they make the rounds and become interesting: an action game with strategic elements in which to battle, in the Middle Ages, even with firearms. Let's find out what it is.
Redemption Road's Kingmakers is based on one of those classic ideas that makes you wonder: Why didn't anyone think of this before? Take a sandbox title based on strategy and action, a medieval empire to build and defend, in clashes between dozens of men in armor with swords drawn. So far, nothing strange, and in fact this is also the case in the Kingmakers announcement trailer. The Voice of a Knight speaks of an individual who trained an army, built an entire kingdom, and educated its people in the art of war. At a certain point this much revered gentleman enters the scene: with his pickup he speeds towards his destinationaround him ruined buildings and much desolation, in a future where everything has gone wrong for humanity. With the vehicle still moving, he goes back in time and then overwhelms the enemies of his army with the pickup, and more. With a third-person shooter setting, uses his grenade launcher to sow death and destruction. The opponents' shields are nothing against his shotgun, and no knight is safe when the protagonist takes to the skies with his combat helicopter.
In other words, in Kingmakers we don't just have to expand our kingdom and command our men “from above” during battles and castle sieges. We will be able to take to the field in first person, with a fighter with modern armor and a vast selection of firearms capable of slaughtering opponents.About this, the production seems to offer a good graphic sector, which serves as the perfect base for clashes between large armies. Furthermore, the enemy reactions to gunshots seem very satisfying. Whether on horseback or on their feet on the ground, the poor unfortunates die ingloriously when they encounter our hero's AK 47 bullets.
Furthermore, according to the final part of the film, we could find ourselves in a classic “act in the past to change the future” experience. In fact, in the last scenes of the video the protagonist falls into a very different future from the one visible at the beginning of the film, in a world full of technological wonders and splendor.Kingmakers is based on a crazy and intriguing idea and we are really curious to find out more. The game will arrive on Steam in 2024 and we will be able to take part in its ambitious real-time battles even in co-op.
