At the end of February, the first game from internal Xbox studios to be released on competitor consoles was Pentiment. Obsidian's project ran at 120 FPS on Playstation 5 consoles after release, which surprised many players, given the 60 FPS limit on Xbox Series X | S. The Obsidian studio itself explained that 120 FPS should have appeared on Xbox consoles, but this did not happen due to an error.
Now the situation has been corrected, and Pentiment began to run at 120 FPS on the Xbox Series X. This was reported by Josh Sawyer, who is the head of Pentiment development at Obsidian. He published a post on Twitter, where he said that an update has been released for Pentiment, which adds a 120 FPS mode on the Xbox Series X, and also makes some changes to the version for Playstation 5.
Tests have already appeared that show how Pentiment runs on Xbox Series X after the 120 FPS update. Gaming at higher frame rates offers 4K resolution. Note that the Xbox Series S did not receive an update with the 120 FPS mode in Pentiment.
The game Pentiment itself is available in the Game Pass subscription, with Russian localization.
