Game: Scarface: Money. Power. Respect.Publisher:VivendiDeveloper:FarSight StudiosGenre:StrategyTested for:PSPAvailable for:PSPUSK:Released in:2 / 2007
The PSP implementation of the mafia classic Scarface mobilizes the gang fights in turn-based strategy: four rival families occupy all districts and make tactical investments every round. For example, new drug laboratories can be built or gangs of thugs and pushers can be hired. The hot goods are sold off so that you can afford the gang war: every round you can attack an enemy's area, defend your own positions and use all sorts of power actions such as the grenade launcher and sniper.
Then you watch the animated fights. The secret of a successful cartel is, above all, the clever management of the budget: Anyone who produces too much material or only builds up the car army will soon be defeated. It is also important to assess the opponents and prevent enemy attacks. A bit of luck also plays a role – the cops regularly carry out raids! In addition to the free fight for money and territory, there is a scenario mode with tasks: You set up a certain number of drug kitchens or take territory from certain enemies. As a reward, scenes from the cinema template will gradually be unlocked.
Opinion & Rating
Oliver Ehrle says: Al Pacino doesn't deserve this: Money. Power. Respect. is a fairly simple strategy game that is ultimately all about numbers. You optimize sales for your area, build up squads of thugs and, with numerical superiority, take over enemy areas. Soon the fights become purely routine, because you can't get more out of the flat gameplay. In addition, the presentation leaves a lot to be desired: film fans expect more than just a collection of celluloid snippets, a carelessly painted city map and animated gang fights that you can't intervene in – you definitely won't feel like you're in a movie. Despite the weak technology, you need several UMDs for multiplayer battles: pretty cheeky!
Doesn't do the movie justice: loveless strategy dispute over the neighborhoods of Liberty City.
