More PS2 games should become available to subscribers of the PlayStation Plus Deluxe service soon. The information is a rumor, but the speculation is based on an interview and information obtained that points to this path.
In an interview with the Time Extension website, one of the directors of Implicit Conversions, the company responsible for the emulator that allows you to play PS1 and PSP games on PS4 and PS5, hinted that more titles will arrive for the latest consoles.
It is worth mentioning that the company stated that it had already worked on Jet Moto, Grandia, The Legend of Dragoon and several Star Wars. They were also responsible for SoulCalibur: Broken Destiny and Tekken 6, both on PSP, which received versions for newer hardware.
Now, apparently, they are working on PS2 games too. The company's official website says the following: “We are currently working to bring games from the original PS1, PSP and PS2 to the PS4 and PS5″. Unfortunately, details about the games have not been revealed.
The same is said on Implicit Conversions' LinkedIn:
“Among our customers, we are working with Sony Interactive Entertainment / PlayStation to bring PS1, PS2 and PSP games to PS4 and PS5. Some of our partners and publishers include Disney Interactive, Bandai Namco, Square Enix, Konami, Capcom, Team17 and Bend Studio.”
In other words, although it's not official yet, it seems that PS2 games being added monthly (and with the chance of PSN trophies) should be a reality soon.
