An Xbox game leading pre-sales on PlayStation? That's what's happening with “Sea of Thieves”, which rose to first place in PlayStation Store pre-sales in the United States.
The title surpassed rivals such as “Rise of the Ronin”, “Stellar Blade” and “Dragon's Dogma 2”. The release is scheduled for April 30th on Sony consoles. Remember that this title was until now exclusive to Xbox and PC.
It's about to swim in the PlayStation 'sea', after six years of waiting. And the pre-sale results seem to be quite promising. And this does not seem to be a phenomenon exclusive to the United States, as in Portugal it is also among the most popular on the PlayStation Store.
On PlayStation Store Portugal is already in second place
Since its launch in 2018, “Sea of Thieves” has sailed through seas of success, having a community of millions of users. The responsible studio, Rare, keeps the game active and updated by introducing new elements, missions and collectibles. In other words, after this period, users remain interested.
“Sea of Thieves” será cross-platform
A very positive point is that “Sea of Thieves” on PlayStation will be cross-platform. In other words, players on this platform can join friends on PC and Xbox for joint adventures across the seven seas.
There are rumors that Microsoft may be reconsidering its hardware strategy, and intends to focus more on being a game developer. Nothing is confirmed for now, but the expansion of exclusive Xbox titles to other platforms suggests a possible change in the company's approach to the console market. It's called “if you can't beat them, join them”.
