The wait for Superman's arrival in theaters seems endless, but fortunately James Gunn has a project in hand that will premiere this year and that will mark the debut of the first series of the new DCEU: Creature Commandos. The show will be directed by Gunn himself, and in addition to the actors' enthusiasm, one of its stars claims that this will be the start of something truly great.
In an interview with ComicBook, the actor Frank Grillowho will play Rick Flag Sr. in Creature Commandosstated that James Gunn has big plans for his character, hinting that this hero will not be limited to a supporting role, but will also play a crucial role in other projects of the new DCEU.
“I did Creature Commandos with Gunn and Peter Safran, and they have a whole plan for Rick Flag Sr. That will run throughout the DCEU. I can't say what it is. And I hope it's just as good, if not better, than Crossbones.”
Grillo has compared his DC Studios character to Crossbones, the villain he played at Marvel Studios and who never managed to fully break out despite having tremendous potential. He claims that his career in this universe has only just begun.
It is important to remember that his debut in Creature Commandos It will be in an animated version, so to see it in the flesh we will have to wait for future DCEU films or series where this group of antiheroes make their appearance in real action, away from the 2D format.
