How to unlock all Final Fantasy VII Rebirth costumes for all characters and be able to use them whenever you want on Cloud, Tifa, Aeris, Barrett…
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth offers several alternative costumes for team members. Although there are not many, it is possible to change the appearance of Cloud, Tifa, Aeris, Barret, Yuffie, Red XIII and Cait Sith.
Doing so has no real playable implications, it's not armor, nor does it affect stars or anything else. But it is a way to change the scene a bit, and see the charismatic protagonists of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth in a different way.
In this guide Final Fantasy VII Rebirth We explain what the alternative costumes are for Cloud, Tifa and friends, and how to unlock them and use them whenever you want.
All Final Fantasy VII Rebirth costumes
There aren't many alternate costumes in Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, and (almost) all of them are unlocked automatically at certain points in the story.
Of course, to be able to use them at any time, you will have to beat the main story. That's true with the military uniforms you see in chapter 4 and the swimsuits in chapter 6 on the Costa del Sol.
Midgar Infantry – Cloud, Tifa, Aeris and Barret
The four protagonists of the game will wear a military uniform in the military distillery scene in Junon, in Chapter 4. But in order to wear this uniform, you will have to beat the game (the main story) and they are unlocked automatically.
Swimsuits – Cloud, Aeris, Tifa and Yuffie
You will see the famous swimsuits in Chapter 6, during the visit to Costa del Sol. You will have to put them on temporarily to access the beach.
This is part of an affinity “minigame” with Tifa or Aeris, depending on which outfit you choose for Cloud to wear. To unlock them, you will have to get some stamps and exchange them for outfits:
Cloud:
Chocobo Suit Surf Suit
Tifa:
Stranded Beauty – Affinity with “Cloud's Chocobo Suit” Elegant Surf – Affinity with Cloud's “Surf Suit”
Air:
Dazzling Flora – Affinity with Cloud's “Chocobo Suit” Princess and Mermaid – Affinity with Cloud's “Surf Suit”
Yuffie:
Orange Beach Clothes – Has no particular affinity with any other character, and is already wearing it.
As in the military parade costumes, you can use the swimsuits at any time after finishing the story.
In the case of Yuffie, in addition to the two skins she comes with by default (and the swimsuit that you will unlock forever at the end of the game) you can get a third skin, Wutai Pop Star, in chapter 8, and You can use that one at any time.
Red XIII and Cait Sith alternate costumes
The other controllable characters in the game, Cait Sith and Red XIII, have an alternate costume (or “skin”) each, and both are from the post-game.
In both cases, after beating the game, use the chapter selector to return to the Gold Saucer in Chapter 12. There you can purchase two alternative skins for Red XIII and Cait Sith.
