The car can withstand pistol bullets, but 50 caliber is overkill.
The body of the Cybertruck electric pickup truck is made of fairly thick stainless steel sheet and can withstand impacts not only from stones, but also from bullets: to prove this, Tesla was fired at with a Thompson submachine gun. YouTuber Zach Nelson decided to take it a little further.
To test the electric car's strength, the enthusiast and his comrades used a variety of small arms – from pistols to sniper rifles. The car was fired at with 17 caliber, 22 caliber, 9 mm bullets and even 50 caliber.
As Tesla promised, the body of the Cybertruck handled small calibers well: in the worst case, it left dents on the car door. The dents from 9-mm pistol bullets turned out to be noticeably larger, but they still could not penetrate the body.
But a 223 Remington caliber rifle coped with this task, breaking through the door of the Cybertruck. The Cybertruck's body withstood much worse fire from 50-caliber shells: a large-caliber bullet made an impressive hole in the door.
It is noteworthy that the shelling did not interfere with the operation of the door mechanisms. Although there were several holes and many dents in it, and a large-caliber bullet had knocked out a certain wire, the door still opened and closed, and the window regulator also worked normally.
