Those: Blizzard
March 12, 2024 at 6:30 p.m. – Why is the current Hearthstone event in WoW so boring? With a little more development effort from Blizzard, it could have been so cool while improving the future of World of Warcraft.
The event for the 10th birthday of Hearthstone, the trading card game from Blizzard, is currently underway in WoW. However, the event doesn't really inspire players, but rather disappoints across the board. Boring standing around and waiting in the hope of finally dusting off the mount at the next portal.
At least the players show their creativity and try to bridge the waiting time with mounts and toys. At the same time, Blizzard is trying to lure players into Hearthstone, as there is already a WoW mount for logging in. You don't have to play for it.
The developers missed a great opportunity here. There are discussions in the forums about how the event could have been better and we think one idea is pretty brilliant – even if it would have meant significantly more effort for the developers.

The brilliant cosplay of Ysera from WoW would certainly be even better without all the CGI.
Hearthstone light in WoW (buy now) – a bit like Gwent
In the current event we can play Hearthstone within WoW. At least we can sit at a table and push some buttons. But that's not real Hearthstone. That's exactly what Blizzard could have introduced here and at the same time could have combated the current lull in content in WoW.
Similar to what CD Projekt RED did with Gwent and The Witcher, it could have worked in WoW too. Break down Hearthstone into a simplified way of playing and implement it directly in WoW!
Source: Blizzard Implementing a simple version of Hearthstone with a few pre-built decks in WoW certainly wouldn't be too difficult for the developers. Not only could we have played a few rounds during the current event, but we could also compete against special NPCs or the innkeepers in the inns in the future. Similar to pet battles or the dragon races World quests and other events related to Hearthstone could have been incorporated and basically had a new mini-feature in the game.
Give us a few simplified decks with which we can play against each other during raid breaks and WoW players would have fun playing Hearthstone.
And Hearthstone would have benefited too
At the same time, countless heroes certainly wouldn't have downloaded Hearthstone just to log in and grab a mount. If we a very simple version of the card game in WoW presented and can play there, one or two players will definitely feel like it, to check out Hearthstone for the first time or again.
This way both games would have won and the development costs of such a feature could be justified. Because a new feature would undoubtedly be more expensive than the boring event, but as it is it will simply remain a disappointing event and WoW players will not have good memories when they hear “Hearthstone”.
