Developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has started the patch notes for Update 1.6 for “Stardew Valley”. The developer took to Twitter to show an upcoming innovation that will affect fruit trees.
Developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone is currently preparing the upcoming patch 1.6 for “Stardew Valley”, which is scheduled to be released first for the PC on March 19th. Barone recently announced the publication date together with the current sales figures to the farm hit. The popular game, which is now eight years old, has sold over 30 million copies.
Barone is currently working on the patch notes for the next update for the farm simulation. The developer now shared one of the changes on Twitter, which should particularly please friends of fruit trees.
Update 1.6 brings changes to seedlings
“Cutting down a fruit tree now produces the corresponding fruit seedling,” says the developer’s tweet. “When the tree is mature (i.e. the fruit quality is > easy), it will produce a seedling of the same quality as its fruit. The higher the quality, the faster the seedling will mature when transplanted.”
With Update 1.6, the seedlings of the fruit trees now receive a quality rating that is just as high as that of the tree's fruit. The quality of the seedling will affect how quickly the sprout matures into a tree. As Eric Barone explained in a follow-up tweet, it will take time for the sapling to grow into a tree that can bear fruit. However, with this upcoming change, this will happen faster than before based on quality.
Like the developer previously announced, Stardew Valley players' existing save data is safe before Update 1.6. Users can continue playing their existing farms and would “see most of the new content this way.” However, if you want to experience all the new features, you should create a completely new savegame, advised Barone.
