With Top Spin, 2K Sports is known to be bringing back another sports brand from earlier days. The previously announced Top Spin 2K25 now also has a specific release date and comes in different editions.
Tennis fans are probably currently watching the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, but those who would rather play in a video game themselves are eagerly awaiting the comeback of the top spin series. This was already announced with Top Spin 2K25 a few weeks ago – and now there is a specific release date for the new sports title from 2K Sports.
The company has now announced via press release that the revival of the tennis video game series will take place on April 26, 2024 on the platforms PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC (via Steam). Pre-orders are now possible, with different editions available to choose from. In keeping with this, the cover athletes were also introduced.
The two legends Roger Federer and Serena Williams can be seen on the Standard Edition and the Grand Slam Edition, which is only available digitally. There is also a deluxe edition featuring current tennis stars Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek and Francis Tiafoe.
Top Spin 2K25 will feature more than 24 playable pros. The title also features training in the TopSpin Academy, set to music by John McEnroe, competitive single-player and multiplayer modes, all four Grand Slam tournaments and more. In career mode you complete the Grand Slam tournaments and have to win against renowned tennis greats at Wimbledon etc. In total, there are 48 courses beyond the largest tournaments, 15 of which are real locations – not only the Grand Slam venues, but also the large international arenas such as Indian Wells. You can play there at three different times of the day. The licensed stars include the cover stars mentioned above, but also Andre Agassi and more.
The Standard Edition costs 69.99 euros on the old consoles, 74.99 euros on the new consoles and 59.99 euros on the PC. For the price of 74.99 euros you will receive a cross-gen package that – provided you have a single PlayStation or Xbox account – can be played on both generations.
The more expensive Grand Slam and Deluxe Editions initially grant you three days earlier access to the game from April 23, 2024. The Deluxe Edition also includes the “Under the Lights Pack” for 99.99 euros (all platforms). “New Wave Pack” with alternative outfits for Carlos Alcaraz, Iga Swiatek and Francis Tiafoe and a collection of additional equipment as well as the “Rookie Rise Pack” with a My Player Boost and 1,700 VC.
The most expensive is the Grand Slam Edition for 119.99 euros (all platforms), which, in addition to the contents of the Deluxe Edition, also includes the “Grand Slam Champions Pack” with special rackets and champion serves as well as the All Access Pass, which includes six Premium Centers Court Pass Seasons post-launch and includes eight bonus cosmetic items.
Top Spin 2K25 was developed by Hangar 13.
