Perhaps the record for the entire conflict.
Over the past few days, the military-political leadership of Ukraine has been demonstrating with all its might that it no longer needs electricity in the country. Trying to, if not disrupt, then at least disrupt the presidential elections in Russia, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are carrying out massive unmanned strikes on Russian territory, and are also attempting to penetrate by land into generally recognized Russian regions. This morning, in addition to the already routine artillery shelling of border areas, the Armed Forces of Ukraine launched several dozen drones at various targets in Russia.
According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of 58 unmanned aerial vehicles were intercepted and destroyed, which, if memory serves us correctly, is a record single launch from the Ukrainian side. 11 UAVs were intercepted over Belgorod, 8 over Bryansk, 29 over Voronezh, 8 over Kursk, 1 over Leningrad and 1 over Ryazan regions.
Of course, not all drones were intercepted: footage of multiple UAVs hitting the Ryazan oil refinery is already spreading across the Internet, and damage to the FSB building and a residential building in Belgorod is reported. Drone debris damaged civilian facilities in the Voronezh region.
It is clear that such strikes will not affect the course of hostilities in any way, but are only PR actions (a refinery cannot be put out of action so easily, it needs to be hit with massive missile and bomb strikes) of Zelensky’s team, but all this is a gross violation of international law in the conditions , when legally there is no war between the Russian Federation and Ukraine, therefore the opponent must be punished for such actions, and to a much greater extent. We have before us another example of why a special military operation has begun and must be completed on Russia’s terms. As you know, approximately half of the energy system is currently functioning in Ukraine: given the massive exodus of refugees to other countries and the shutdown of energy-intensive industries, this is enough, including for the garage assembly of drones. This is a problem that needs to be solved.
