Those: Capcom
March 13th, 2024 at 6:05 p.m. – The hype about Dragon's Dogma 2 is getting bigger and bigger. The role-playing game has now entered the top seller charts on Steam – even before the official release.
Not only after the hype of games like Baldur's Gate 3, Hogwarts Legacy or Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader, role-playing games are once again one of the most popular genres. How lucky that some cool role-playing games await us in 2024. One of the first of these will be Dragon's Dogma 2, which will be released on March 22nd for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox.
The hype surrounding Capcom's action role-playing game seems to be gaining momentum. First and foremost, the second part should offer improved gameplay and of course an even better plot. But things like the character editor can also inspire fans – and encourage our colleague Matthias to call in sick.
The latest Steam charts show how big the hype is now.

Dragon's Dogma is shaking up the Steam charts even before its release
Dragon's Dogma 2 has not yet been released, but can already be pre-ordered. Of course, this also applies to Steam. The gaming community's motto “Never pre-order” obviously doesn't apply to Dragon's Dogma. Because the players are ordering like crazy.
Dragon's Dogma has currently even made it into the top seller charts on Steam, leaving games like Last Epoch, Enshrouded and Baldur's Gate 3 far behind.
So players have a lot of trust in Capcom and what they deliver. And this despite the fact that there is no playable demo or anything like that that you could take a quick look at.
What do you think – will Dragon's Dogma 2 live up to the hype or will we see the first big role-playing disappointment of 2024 in a few weeks? Maybe most players don't even make it into the game and would rather spend their time with the extensive character editor… who knows.
