Resident Evil 4 is arguably one of the best action games of all time – and perhaps the best part of the game is the inventory case. It's incredibly fun to rearrange the weapons and resources you've collected over and over again and thus use the inventory space as efficiently as possible. Indie developer PlayWithFurcifer apparently sees it similarly and made its own game out of packing a suitcase.
Backpack Battles is aimed at neurotics and order fanatics
Backpack Battles is the name of the self-proclaimed backpack management auto battler, which has the community at its feet. A total of 100,000 copies were sold on Steam on the day it was released. At the beginning the user ratings were almost perfect, but now the rating is 95 percent positive user reviews (extremely positive). And the number of players is also extremely impressive for a small indie title. The current peak is 35,466 users logged in at the same time (via SteamDB), and the trend is rising.

But how exactly does Backpack Battles work? Like in a role-playing game, players can choose a class for which they then have to put together the ideal inventory. Earned gold coins can be spent in the shop – or you can forge new, significantly more powerful items from existing items. In addition to weapons and armor, the backpack also contains healing items, spells and even companions such as dogs or dragons.
The fights are completely automatic. The stress factor solely depends on the player's perfectionism to fill the backpack as sensibly as possible. Backpack Battles has been available since March 8th and regularly costs 12.99 euros. The game is currently in Early Access. A demo is also available.
