The hypothesis that PS5 could receive a PS2 emulator is recent, due to the declarations of Implicit Conversionsa company that has established a fruitful collaboration with Sony and which has already specialized in porting games originally published on PS One and PSP.
Visiting Implicit Conversions' LinkedIn profile, Reddit users examined a list of publishers with which the company has collaborated in recent years. Scrolling through the names, some publishers with whom the company seems to have established working relationships came to mind, but of whom we have not yet had official news.
The names are those of Rockstar Games, Konami e Cyan, and the first two are certainly the publishers who have made fans stand up the most. Considering that Rockstar and Konami have produced a large number of beloved classics released on PS1, PS2 and PSP, many of which released as PlayStation exclusives, it's understandable that several users are pinning their hopes on the arrival on PlayStation Plus Premium of titles of the caliber of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars, Manhunt and the original games of Silent Hill. At the moment, however, these are simple speculations, and at the moment we can't do anything but wait hopefully for news.
Good news could already arrive today, considering that the announcement of the PlayStation Plus games for March 2024 is expected.
