Sony rolls out PS5 firmware 9.00. As the publisher reports, the system update is available to download for the first PlayStation 5 players. Users can look forward to one or two new functions. As can be seen from the patch notes published on the PlayStation website, the makers have, among other things, updated the software of the DualSense controllers to improve the sound functions. The gamepad speakers can now produce a higher volume, which means In-game sounds and voice chat audio clearer should be heard.
What's in the system update?
Sony writes: “The quality of the Microphone input These controllers have been improved using a new AI machine learning model. Background noise from key presses and game audio is suppressed, improving the use of voice chat.” With the PS5 Firmware 9.00 it is also possible to adjust the brightness of the power indicator light. You can find the option in the system settings of the PlayStation 5 (buy now €549.99) under “Beep and brightness of the indicator light”.
More features in PS5 firmware 9.00
Individual features for parties and screen sharing are also new. Players watching the screen share can use pointers and emoji reactions to interact with the host's gameplay. In order to use this feature, the host must enable viewer interactions in Settings. Emojis are supported according to Unicode 15.1. There are also individual stability improvements for DualSense, PSVR2 headset and VR 2 Sense controller. The same applies to the PlayStation 5 software, which should run more efficiently after the update to version 9.00. The firmware is rounded out by improvements to messaging and usability on “some screens.”
