The Post of Serbia warns of the latest attempt to abuse the logo and name of the Post of Serbia in the form of fake SMS and Viber messages, which allegedly come from the Post of Serbia.
It is a type of phishing attack, popularly called Smishing (SMS phishing). This type of attack starts by sending an SMS, Viber or WhatsApp message and uses social engineering methods to trick the victim into sharing personal information about payment cards and account numbers. The victim is required to visit the link and enter the requested personal information. The messages are created with the intention of appearing as if they were sent from reliable sources, in this case by the Public Company “Post of Serbia”, and the text of the message is such that it creates a sense of urgency with the aim of causing the recipient of the message to react quickly and recklessly.
Users are advised not to open messages of this type and not to visit the links listed in them, because those links lead to fake pages.
The only legitimate link of JP “Pošta Srbije” can be found at the link: posta.rs. We remind you that JP “Pošta Srbije” does not provide payment services for package delivery via payment cards on its website, and communicates with users via SMS or Viber messages exclusively with the aim of announcing the arrival of shipments and exclusively via its verified account.
