The developers of the survival simulator in the setting of feudal Japan Sengoku Dynasty have released a major update, Kintsugi Update. Along with it, the game was transferred to the Unreal Engine 5.3, which made it possible, among other things, to reduce loading times and improve optimization. There is also support for DLLS 3.5 and FSR 2.2.2 technologies, which allow you to increase the frame rate.
However, perhaps the main innovation of the patch was a completely redesigned progression system. From now on, every time the number of inhabitants of your village reaches a new maximum, you will receive a Dynasty Experience reward. This method encourages increasing the size of the village or creating new ones. However, you can still take on quests and complete special projects, but they will only give you Dynasty XP and not directly level you up.
A new recipe unlock system rewards players for exploring, finding new resources, obtaining new items, or reaching village size milestones. Previously, recipes were only unlocked by completing certain quests, but now this can be done in the following ways:
Reaching a new dynasty levelPurchasing new itemsBuilding new structuresPurchasing recipes directly from the radial menuPurchasing recipes from a merchantCompleting quests
Additionally, the developers have improved the behavior and responsiveness of NPC AI, with a focus on production and increased realism. The consolidation and simplification of building jobs has also been introduced in this update, allowing players to enjoy the intricacies of paper production. In addition, significant improvements have been made to farming, new types of animals have appeared, weapon responsiveness has been improved, and balance has been improved.
“The Kintsugi Update is our biggest update ever, significant time and effort has been put into technical optimization, but we've also put a lot of emphasis on realism and gameplay features. This update also includes custom game settings and gives players more control over how they want to play,” said Jan Sjeslar, CEO and Game Director of Superkami.
