After his foray into the Spider-Man multiverse starring Miles Morales, Spider-Man Noir will return with a live-action series that will be released through Amazon Prime Video. Although it is still unknown who will play this version of the character, there is one notable candidate: Nicolas Cage.
In an interview with Collider, the American actor revealed that he has had talks with Amazon to play Spider-Man Noir. After having voiced him in the animated films, Cage confessed that he fell in love with the character and would love to bring him to life in the series.
“Well, I can say that we've been talking. It's no secret that I love the character. I think the character offers another kind of mix. I can combine my favorite performances from the golden age, that is, Robinson, Cagney, Bogart, with a character who is, I suppose, widely considered [como] Stan Lee's masterpiece. I see it as a kind of foray into a mix of pop art, something like a Lichtenstein [junguiano], and a mix through Bogart and Cagney. But there is nothing definitive yet; We've just had conversations.”
Although Cage has stressed that he has only had conversations with Amazon, everything suggests that the role is close to being his. His bond with the character is stronger than that of any other actor, and he understands the character's personality and development well.
Spider-Man Noir It is still in pre-production and it is not known when filming will begin. However, we know that Steve Lightfoot, screenwriter of The Punisher and known for his work on series such as Narcos and Hannibalwill be the main showrunner of the series.
