With adaptive difficulty levels for professionals and newcomers as well as many other new features, MotoGP 24 is coming in May.
Milestone and MotoGP announce MotoGP 24, the official video game featuring all riders and tracks for the 2024 season in the MotoGP, Moto2 and Moto3 categories and the FIM Enel MotoE World Championship.
The new part will be available on May 2, 2024 on PlayStation 4|5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and Steam.
With the aim of providing an experience that perfectly reflects the emotions of real racing, the series adds other features most requested by the community. Following the introduction of dynamic weather and flag-to-flag racing last year, MotoGP 24 will bring players even closer to real competition through the Driver Market and Stewards.
Marc Márquez's move from the Repsol Honda team to the independent Gresini Racing MotoGP team, and riding a Ducati, was a transformative event in MotoGP. From now on, such twists and turns can also take place in the official video game.
The new driver market offers endless opportunities to move to other teams. This means that each season starts with a different squad and players compete not only for races and championships, but also to find a new place or keep their current one. Likes and replies on the fictional social network will even fuel rumors about possible driver transfers.
The new MotoGP stewards will be responsible for overseeing the race and all timed sessions, penalizing riders and AI alike for their behavior on track. The penalties range from simple warnings to long lap or time penalties, overtaking bans for unfair overtaking maneuvers and canceled qualifying times. Irresponsible driving will have an even greater impact on rivalries with other drivers.
The Driver Market and Stewards offer players the most dynamic career mode ever featured in a MotoGP game.
Milestones has also introduced a new “Adaptive Difficulty Level”. The system adapts the level of difficulty of the game to the performance and abilities of the player and therefore offers an optimal gaming experience for both professionals and newcomers.
The AI and physics have also undergone significant improvements. The AI has been refined to replicate real drivers' approach to racing. Former world champions will use their experience and wait before attempting the victorious overtaking maneuver.
Newcomers first have to prove themselves on the track. As for the game physics, a new electronic tuning system has been developed to better control corner entry and exit and improve power delivery to control rear wheel slip and the motorcycle's tendency to wheelie.
Another important aspect is tire management, which has been revised to ensure the performance of all tire compounds on different tracks while maintaining a distinct feel for each tire.
MotoGP4's online mode is enriched by the LiveGP Championships, a new multiplayer mode designed for the most competitive players. These are seasons that consist of a certain number of LiveGPs.
Players will be challenged to climb the overall championship rankings by collecting points at each LiveGP. Cross-Play allows fans to get on the track and compete from day one, regardless of their platform and console generation. There will also be a local 2-player split screen for the PlayStation, Xbox and Steam versions, so you can race side by side with friends.
With four comprehensive editors for helmets, stickers, race numbers and butt patches, players can let their imagination run wild and share their creations online***, even across platforms.
“We are delighted to announce the upcoming release of MotoGP24. As CEO, I couldn't be prouder of what we've accomplished in this new chapter. For the first time in series history, there will be the Driver Market, one of the most anticipated features by our community. The entire team has put hearts and minds into creating the best possible experience for fans around the world and my heartfelt thanks go to MotoGP for always supporting us on this journey,” says Luisa Bixio, CEO of Milestone .
“We are excited to announce MotoGP24 with even more new features for fans,” added Dan Rossomondo, Chief Commercial Officer of MotoGP commercial rights holder Dorna Sports. “What they're looking for is what they'll find: more updates to bring the game as close to reality as possible, and a more dynamic difficulty level to ensure that both professionals and new players can maximize their experience while playing. Features like the Driver Market are also great additions, especially considering the recent significant team changes. I hope our fans will enjoy playing MotoGP24 as much as they love watching the sport live!”
