Noir style, blood on a mass scale and top-down action? Welcome to “OTXO”! The shooter with roguelite elements is coming to consoles in a few weeks.
After Super Rare Originals and Lateralis Heavy Industries released the top-down shooter “OTXO” for the PC in August 2023, they are also bringing the bloody and action-packed title to the consoles in a few weeks. From March 28, 2024, players will be able to start their adventure on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and Nintendo Switch for the price of 14.99 euros. A 20 percent discount will also be available at launch.
Lead and blood in abundance
In “OTXO” you take on the role of the protagonist who enters an inexplicable villa. After all, he is looking for his lost love and is not afraid to take up arms. But the deeper he penetrates into the villa, the more the secrets that reside within it reveal themselves.
The protagonist has no special characteristics, a name, or any memory of how he got into the villa in the first place. He's just completely aware of the reason. His great love is waiting for him. He is sure of this. However, he must fight his way through unique areas while also meeting new allies. Nevertheless, his inner demons also get in his way,
To eliminate them, the protagonist has numerous weapons, over 100 skills and focus at his disposal. With his focus, he can dodge bullets, kick down doors, and strike down enemies that get in the way of his missions.
However, “OTXO” is not a simple top-down shooter. Players can also enjoy roguelite mechanics that keep replayability high. No two runs should be the same. To do this, the developers connected a randomly generated compilation of rooms as well as over 150 hand-created rooms.
And all of this is wrapped in a noir style. In this one, all the blood that the protagonist sheds will be particularly highlighted. So that you can get another first impression of “OTXO”, those responsible have also provided a corresponding trailer.
