Remastered of remastered? It almost makes you want to say it. The latest update published by Aspyr Media for the PS5 edition of Tomb Raider 1, 2 and 3 brings the game triptych to native 4K and 120fps. The patch note, available on the official website, lists the improvements made on Sony consoles.
The Tomb Raider trilogy remastered at 120fps
Naturally, to fully enjoy the new features you will need to equip yourself with an adequate panel. Among the various generic improvements – such as greater stability and resolution of known bugs and glitches – Aspyr also lists specific interventions for each individual game. For all games: HD textures have been added where they were missing, stair textures will no longer be 'disturbed' by camera movements, fixed lighting in certain areas and objects in them are now better visible.
Speaking of the first Tomb Raider, fixed the lava texture which will now not become transparent based on the camera position; in Lara's house the paintings that appeared badly cut were rearranged and the missing doors in the Egypt level were fixed. Lastly, one of the most frustrating problems for many has finally been fixed: the keys. Now they will finally be visible so they can be collected comfortably.
About chapter two: Fixed a game crash in the Home Sweet Home level; fixed spider hitboxes in the Great Wall level; the secrets of the Golden Mask level have been put back in their right place; the snowmobile no longer goes backwards while shooting. Along with these, further updates to various textures.
Various textures have also been fixed in the last of the three games. Of this game, it was above all a particular level [NO SPOILER] needed a fix as its appearance wasn't triggered correctly.
