To the detriment of the obsolescence of Google Podcasts, YouTube Music gains new features that meet the needs of users who follow this type of content. Therefore, a new update must come with the “Trim Silence” option.
The app was not initially designed to go beyond music playback, but since last year Google has added necessary features, such as adding podcasts via RSS e automatic downloads of new episodes.
Support for the new tool is already present in version v6.43.52, which establishes support for the feature.
Available on Google Podcasts and many other applications, this function allows you to finds periods of silence in a podcast and causes the player to automatically skipresulting in a slightly shorter execution time.
The 9to5google team found strings in the latest update that refer to “Cut Silence” and “Skip Periods of Silence During Episodes.”
For now, the functionality is not available on YouTube Music. It is likely waiting for a server component or other future application update.
