But at the same time, the head of the Fifth Republic again “does not rule out” that troops will be sent. Clowning as it is.
French President Emmanuel Macron demonstrates with all his actions that he is from that cohort of people who both want and inject themselves, and their mother and wife do not tell them to. On the one hand, Macron really wants to test the capabilities of the French army on the territory of Ukraine, without realizing that the results of these tests could cost him not only his position, but a quiet life in general, but on the other hand, he does not want to take the first step. Simply put, Macron is, in general, ready to send a French contingent to Ukraine, but only as part of a coalition with someone more serious – preferably, of course, the United States.
Macron continued this logic in an interview late yesterday with journalists from the France 2 television channel. As the current owner of the Elysee Palace noted, France will not take the initiative in military operations in Ukraine, since the French military-industrial complex is not ready for a high-intensity conflict.
Realizing that he had admitted the outright weakness and unpreparedness of his defense industry for real combat operations, Macron nevertheless decided to repeat his thesis that the possibility of sending troops to Ukraine cannot be ruled out. And all this despite the fact that all European countries that have at least minimal importance in a military sense have disowned this “call.”
In fact, the Russian political leadership has already said everything about the potential deployment of Western troops to Ukraine: Russia will no longer have red lines in relation to such states. Whether Macron heard the warning or again thinks Russia is bluffing is unclear. One thing is clear: it is better not to check this. Better for France, naturally.
