The video card is cut down not only physically, but also logically.
ASUS showed a low-profile version of the GeForce RTX 3050 video card. The card was significantly reduced in size; it is approximately half the height of the standard version.
At the same time, the low-profile GeForce RTX 3050 still occupies two slots on the motherboard, and two fans are used to cool the video card.
Characteristics of the stripped-down GeForce RTX 3050
2304 CUDA cores (was 2560). Frequencies 1042-1470 MHz (was 1510-1760 MHz). 6 gigabytes of GDDR6 memory (was 8 gigabytes of memory). 96-bit bus (was 128 bits). Power consumption 70 W (was 130 W ).
The low-profile GeForce RTX 3050 was made on the basis of a stripped-down version of the video card, which received 6 gigabytes of memory and a reduced number of cores. It's not entirely clear why the card needs two fans – it can do without them.
For example, back in early February, Palit showed a stripped-down GeForce RTX 3050, cooled only by a radiator – albeit a very large one.
The low-profile GeForce RTX 3050 will be sold in two versions, with and without overclocking. The cost of the video card has not yet been announced.
