This year, the Ultra model from Asus' Zenfone range is making a comeback. Less compact than other Zenfones, the Zenfone 11 Ultra is on par with other high-end smartphones of 2024 and not only in terms of its dimensions. Our editorial team has already had the opportunity to test it before its release scheduled for April 14. The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra is therefore currently only available for pre-order, but that does not prevent it from already benefiting from a reduction of 100 euros in its two configurations at Amazon.
The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra in brief

Where to buy
Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra at the best price?
A smartphone that holds its own in a very competitive segment
With a simple design, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra is nonetheless a rather successful smartphone. With its diagonal of 6.78 inches, it matches its direct competitors and also chooses the flat screen. On the resistance side, Asus opts for Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and IP68 certification. The screen is also of good quality without being impressive. It is an AMOLED panel in Full HD+ definition (2,400 x 1,080 pixels) with an adaptive refresh rate of 144 Hz. If the brightness actually keeps its promises by being greater than 2,000 cd/m² in HDR mode , this is less the case for colorimetry which does not reach 100% in DCI-P3.
Like the high-end smartphones released at the start of 2024, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra runs on the most powerful SoC of the moment, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. This is supported by 12 or 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM depending on the configuration. In the benchmark game, this smartphone defeats all its competitors in the same price bracket and even comes up against the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. However, it should be noted that during intensive use, such as large games from the Play Store with graphics at max, the Zenfone 11 Ultra does not manage heating well.
Not so Ultra for a high-end
It may be a leader in terms of performance, but the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra is smashed by its competitors in terms of photography. The module on the back has a 50 Mpx main wide-angle sensor (f/1.9), a 13 Mpx ultra-wide-angle sensor (f/2.2) and a 32 Mpx x3 telephoto lens (f/2.4). ). On the front, there is a 32 Mpx (f/2.4) front sensor that allows you to take selfies. Let's say it straight away, the Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra disappointed us in this regard. Overall, the shots are good, but lack detail and dynamic range management. In short, they don't come close to what the competition offers.
Another point that makes you cringe: the software. That ZenUI doesn't live up to what Pixel Experience and OneUI offer is not the problem. The problem is Android tracking with only two years of updates. Coming from a smartphone costing almost 1,000 euros in 2024, that doesn't work at all. The Asus Zenfone 11 Ultra still makes up for it with a large 5,500 mAh battery for two days of autonomy as well as 65 W fast charging which recharges in less than 40 minutes according to the Taiwanese manufacturer.
