Is the remake of Dune what Star Wars fans and George Lucas would have hoped for from episodes 7, 8 and 9? The science fiction blockbuster manages to appeal to the general public, yet is still quite sophisticated and combines art and commerce in an impressive way (here is our review). Dune 2 follows the Hollywood trend that suddenly demanding, uncomfortable and non-conformist films like Barbie or Oppenheimer are going through the roof and are giving the MCU & Co. fans a run for their money.
And so Dune: Part Two opened extremely successfully in the cinema and also received excellent reviews. However, Dune 2 had to be in the US cinema charts after a short time a bitter dampener accept. That was unexpected.
Record: Dune: Part Two is that successful
Although it was Dune: Part Two (buy now) was beaten in the cinema charts by a certain Panda in the home market of the USA, but internationally things are still going great for director Denis Villeneuve's masterpiece. What is the situation in this country? Visitor numbers out of?
To Great Britain, China and France Dune 2 quite successful, especially in Germany, and even set a record. The sci-fi hit will also be clear on the third weekend at number 1 in the cinema charts lay. With estimated 325.000 Dune 2 replaces the most successful film of the year so far. So far, comedy has had the throne for 2024 Where the lie falls with Sidney Sweeney (Spider-Man flop Madame Web). What's next?
It is in the third game week Dune: Part Two still at the same level in Germany of the previous film for its theatrical release. Will there be a third part of Dune? Nothing has been officially announced yet, but the success of Part Two should ensure that Dune 3 will definitely come to the cinema and therefore see the light of the screen. Before 2026 is with a possible continuation however, not to be expected.
