“Far Cry” is 20 years old! To mark the occasion, Ubisoft is conducting a livestream, which will, however, contain no announcements.
The first “Far Cry” part was released on March 23, 2004. To celebrate the 20th anniversary, a livestream will take place soon. Ubisoft gives the date as March 21st.
However, one thing is already clear: Ubisoft will not announce a new game in the stream. Instead, short stories about previous offshoots are told and Twitch Drops are distributed.
In addition to the live stream, there will also be high discounts for previous “Far Cry” games on all platforms. You can save up to 85 percent.
You can already find a worthwhile discount in the PS Store. You can currently get the GOTY edition of the sixth part for only 35,99 Euro acquire. This saves you a whopping 70 percent.
The announcement of Far Cry 7 is still a long time coming
So you'll have to be patient until the seventh main part is announced. At least there are already several rumors about it. So Ubisoft is probably changing the engine and telling a non-linear story. The focus is on a wealthy family that was kidnapped by a conspiracy group. You supposedly have 72 hours to save the family members. The timer will only stop if you go to a hiding place.
The publication is scheduled to take place in autumn 2025. At least Insider Gaming would like to have found out about these details.
What is known is: “Far Cry 6” support ended at the end of 2023. The open-world shooter has received four download expansions. Since then, the focus has been entirely on the unannounced successor.
In addition to “Far Cry 7”, a multiplayer title is to be released. This is probably one Extraction-Shooter.
