Now features from Squadron 42 will begin to be integrated into Star Citizen.
Cloud Imperium Games studio head Chris Roberts has published a letter to Star Citizen fans. Roberts and his colleagues talked about how the game is being developed and shared plans for the foreseeable future.
And here's another story
Star Citizen has been in development for more than ten years, the game is currently in alpha stage and is funded through crowdfunding. According to Roberts, Star Citizen 1.0 may be on the horizon, but the studio still has a lot of work to do.
Cloud Imperium Games has a new technical director: Benoit Beausejour, the former technical director of the Turbulent studio. The story-driven action game Squadron 42 has moved from the Feature Complete phase to the Content Complete phase. This means that the developers just have to put the features and content together, then test everything – and the game is ready. The developers began to transfer features from Squadron 42 to Star Citizen. At the end of 2023, a reorganization of the Star Citizen and Squadron 42 teams began, it will simplify and speed up the implementation in Star Citizen features from the single-player game. More information about the state of Squadron 42 will be discussed at CitizenCon, the festival will take place before the end of the year in Manchester. Star Citizen will be ready to receive version 1.0 when the game is sufficiently polished and there is so much content and gameplay mechanics in it, in order to attract new players all the time. Now the developers are drawing up a roadmap for the development of Star Citizen, the final of which will be the release of version 1.0.
Roberts and his colleagues did not specify when the Star Citizen 1.0 roadmap is planned to be published. What is clear is that the game will not be released from early access any time soon.
