March 14, 2024 was actually supposed to be a day of joy for Star Wars fans: Yesterday, Thursday, the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection came onto the market for the PC and consoles. This is a collection with the two shooter classics Star Wars Battlefront (2004) and Star Wars Battlefront 2 (2005) including some bonus content.
But instead of a wave of euphoria, the release caused a huge shitstorm. We'll explain to you how this came to be.
Shitstorm breaks over Star Wars
Shortly after the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection was activated on Steam, it became apparent a fundamentally negative mood away. This was particularly noticeable in the buyers' reviews.
The reviews in Valve's online shop are currently up an “extremely negative” level, just 19 percent of the votes cast so far are positive. The shooter collection will literally torn apart by the fans. But what is actually the reason for the enormous shitstorm?
Many players complain about, among other things, the very low number of available servers. According to reports, there were at times just three servers online for the PC version of Star Wars Battlefront (buy now €49.99) Classic Collection, and even there games were only possible to a limited extent.
If the connection worked, the players had to come along severe lags, crashes and similar problemsn thrash around. Cheaters also seem to be making the few servers unsafe.
There are also complaints about krasse Bugs, which affect both the sound and the actual gameplay. Furthermore, many fans criticize the graphics of the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection: Although the developers had promised improved optics, the negative reports from the community only mention it carelessly reworked textures the Reason.
The developers at Aspyr Media have not yet responded to the shitstorm. It is currently not possible to predict whether and when a patch or at least a hotfix appearsto address the current problems in the Star Wars Battlefront Classic Collection to eliminate.
