The Fall Out Boy song “Heartbreak Feels So Good (Dillon Francis Remix)”, which can be streamed today, can be heard in the trailer and soundtrack of “TopSpin 2K25”.
2K announced today that Fall Out Boy's Pete Wentz will represent the series' first-ever off-court ambassador, TopSpin 2K25. As such, he will contribute to the game's soundtrack and promote the game as a passionate tennis player and iconic figure. As an avowed tennis and TopSpin fan, the bassist and songwriter of the GRAMMY-nominated and multi-platinum rock band Fall Out Boy incorporates his experience in tennis culture into “TopSpin 2K25” and also selects the songs for the game's soundtrack. Among other tracks to be announced soon, the soundtrack will feature a new Dillon Francis remix of Fall Out Boy's “Heartbreak Feels so Good” from the band's latest album So Much (For) Stardust, due out on its release via Fueled By Ramen, Elektra Records and DCD2 Records debuted at No. 1 on March 24, 2023. The song “Heartbreak Feels So Good (Dillon Francis Remix)”, which is now available to stream on all major platforms, celebrated its premiere in the announcement trailer for “TopSpin 2K25” released on Tuesday.
Hailed as the “King of the LA Tennis Scene” by GQ Magazine, Wentz makes time for his favorite sport almost every day, even when he's on tour. He has competed with well-known tennis professionals in Pro-Am tournaments such as the Desert Smash charity event in Indian Wells and is a long-time fan of the “TopSpin” video game series. This makes him the ideal off-court ambassador for the revival of the popular series with “TopSpin 2K25”, which he was able to play before the 2024 BNP Paribas Open.
Regarding his role as an off-court ambassador for “TopSpin 2K25,” Wentz says:
“Being able to combine three of my favorite things into one thing is really something special. I love music, tennis and video games, so when 2K offered me this contribution to TopSpin 2K25 I was immediately excited. The game is really good and I can't wait to play it when it's released. Working with Dillon Francis on the “Heartbreak Feels So Good” Fall Out Boy remix was also a lot of fun because he has an incredible feel for music. The song is transporting Exactly what I feel when playing tennis: sometimes pure exhilaration, sometimes heartbreak, but I don't want to miss it.”
