Despite the excellent performance of the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3, we have not forgotten the FreeBuds Pro 2 which also impressed us during our test. With their sound performance, their Hi-Res certification, their comfort and this drop in price, they remain highly recommendable even today. In the official store, it is possible to obtain them for 129.99 euros instead of 219.99 euros.

Before the excellent Huawei FreeBuds Pro 3 to which we gave a score of 9/10 in our columns, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 also left us with very good memories. The latter remain relatively recent and are still holding their own in a particularly competitive mid-range market, in particular thanks to their precision in sound reproduction and their good dynamics. Right now, the FreeBuds Pro 2 are even more interesting thanks to this 41% reduction in the official store.

Headphones that deserve to be worn longer
First point that appealed to us about these Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2: their comfort and lightness. With a weight of 5.9 g each, these headphones are almost not felt, but you should also remember that they adopt an in-ear format whose bulk in the ear canal can be annoying for some people. But this at least ensures good passive insulation. In terms of design, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 are reminiscent of Apple headphones at first glance with these stems, although here they are rectangular.
IP54 certified, these wireless headphones can be used in a sports setting since they are rain and perspiration resistant, but it is better to avoid laps in a swimming pool. As for the case, Huawei has opted for a classic pebble-shaped design with a brushed glossy coating. This is capable of extending the autonomy of the headphones up to 30 hours without ANC, but we still regret a limited endurance on the side of the headphones which last around 4 hours per charge with ANC and AAC codec and 6h30 without ANC .
Top-notch sound quality
Like Samsung's Galaxy Buds, the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 2 feature a dual-way acoustic configuration with a classic 11mm transducer and a planar transducer which supports it in the high-mids and highs. This results in a deeper soundstage which is also due to the good dynamics of these headphones, and more precision in the spectrum. In our test, we praised balanced sound from start to finish. You should also know that an equalizer with different presets is available, as well as an adaptive equalizer system which adapts the volume according to the shape of the ear canal.
With this great sound performance, we find compatibility with Bluetooth codecs AAC, SBC, HWA as well as LDAC, which allows the FreeBuds Pro 2 to be proudly certified Hi-Res Audio Wireless. Not to mention, multipoint Bluetooth also answers the call, allowing these headphones to connect to different sources simultaneously. Finally, we find the active noise reduction managed by the three microphones per earphone and whose renderings we experienced were a little haphazard, it happens at certain moments that we cannot tell the difference with the passive isolation and others where the ANC turns out to be excellent.
