Studio Colorido, which has brought us anime feature films such as Cat's Love and Home to Drift, will bring its new youth fantasy film to Netflix this year.
Studio Colorful, the Japanese animation studio which is behind anime movies as outstanding as Home adrift (2022), from Hiroyasu IshidaAmor de Gata (2020), by Junichi Sato and Tomotaka Shibayama, returns to Netflix this year with a new feature film: My dear oni.
Tomotaka Shibayama returns as director of the film, after succeeding with cat loveaccompanied by two people who also worked on it: Masafumi Yokotain character design, and Mina Kubotain musical composition.
My dear oni will tell us the story of Hiiragia student who never denies anything to anyone so as not to get along with people, and Tsumugian oni who crosses his path when he arrives in the human world in search of his mother.
Hiiragi and Tsumugi are two opposite poles, and throughout the film we will see how their relationship evolves and what they learn from each other. According to the official synopsis From the film shared by Studio Colorido, we are faced with a “youthful fantasy story that takes place throughout a winter summer.”
In the last few hours, Netflix has shared a brief primer teaser of My dear oni that you can see below these lines, and also a promotional poster in which they announce their release date.

As happened with his previous works – although in Japan you will also be able to see the new feature film by Colorful Studio in theaters – the film will come exclusively to Netflix the next May 24.
My Dear Oni is Studio Colorido's second project for Netflix, after they signed an agreement with the streaming platform to produce three films for it. The first was the aforementioned Home adrift, and the third has not yet been revealed.
