Starting this weekend, the exhibition entitled “Tolkien: man, professor, author” has landed in Naplesdedicated to the famous creator of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.
Tolkien: the exhibition that can be visited at the Royal Palace of Naples
The exhibition is can be visited in the center of Naples, inside the Royal Palace in Piazza del Plebiscito. And a stone's throw from the seafront and Castel Nuovo (Maschio Angioino).
Tolkien: man, professor, author celebrates 70 years since the publication of The Lord of the Rings, and 50 years since the death of the British writer. It was created with the collaboration of the University of Oxford, where Tolkien was also a professor, and after stopping in Rome.
The exhibition will allow you to immerse yourself “in the universe he created which is realized through a complex exhibition itinerary including autograph manuscripts, letters, memorabilia, photographs and works of art inspired by the literary visions of a unique and multifaceted author. A man of his time, novelist, linguist and philologist, the Oxford Professor is told in his artistic and human complexity.”
The exhibition will be open every day, except Wednesday, from 9:00 to 20:00 (with last entry at 7pm). With the inauguration that took place yesterday and the possibility of visiting it until 2 July 2024.
Tickets can be purchased on site, or online at this address. The price is €8 (reduced €2), or alternatively €10 combined with a visit to the entire Royal Palace. Plus the exhibition take part in the “#domenicalmuseo” initiative with free entry every first Sunday of the month.
