Battlefield 2042 for DICE and Electronic Arts was far from the most successful part of the series. The innovations that the shooter proposed were criticized by fans of the franchise. There have been rumors for quite some time that a new Battlefield part is in development, but it has not yet been officially presented.
According to gaming insider Tom Henderson, who is known for verified information from the Electronic Arts camp, publishing house EA wants to avoid risks with the new Battlefield. According to him, this project will be more familiar to fans of the series. You shouldn't expect a lot of innovations in it, both in terms of game mechanics and new modes. It seems that the publisher heard the fans who, after the release of Battlefield 2042, asked DICE to return to the roots of the series, meaning the beloved part of Battlefield 4.
Earlier, Tom Henderson told some details about the new part of Battlefield. In particular, he said that in it:
Events will take place in 2025-2030. The emphasis in battles will be on the use of modern military technologies. There will be a large-scale system of destruction. The developers will abandon the idea of a mode for 128 players, there will be a maximum of 64 players in battles. The 4-class system will return.
The release of the new Battlefield is expected to take place in the fall of 2025.
