It would be nice to reduce the price in such conditions.
Bloomberg reports that the Japanese corporation Sony has decided to temporarily suspend the production of the PlayStation VR2 virtual reality headset, which was introduced only in October last year. The device, costing $550, sold almost 600 thousand copies in the first partial quarter of its presence on the market, but subsequently supply volumes fell quarterly.

Since the announcement, Sony has been able to release more than 2 million copies of the PlayStation VR2, while selling no more than 1.1 million units. In order not to aggravate the situation with overstocking of warehouses, the company decided to temporarily suspend the production of this virtual reality headset. According to experts, the problem with selling PSVR2 is due not only to the high price, but also to the limited range of games for this device. Creating specialized games for virtual reality headsets remains an expensive pleasure, and Sony is now forced to cut costs, and the corresponding measures affected those of its divisions that were associated with the development of content for PSVR2.
