In the last blog post about Cities: Skylines 2, Colossal Orders CEO Mariina Hallikainen spoke about the fact that official modding support for the city building game could be further delayed. Doubts then arose as to whether the developers would keep their promise to publish the editor in spring 2024. Now Colossal Order and publisher Paradox Interactive have announced that the Beach Properties asset pack for Cities: Skylines 2 will be launched on March 25th, marking the first “modding wave”.
There is movement in Cities: Skylines 2
This marked the start of the modding beta. Maps and codes will initially be supported and players will be able to access the map editor and code tools from next week. The focal point for all of this is the Paradox Mods platform, where player-created content can be tried out and shared. Before the full version of the modding tools for Cities: Skylines 2 is released, Colossal Order would like to release a few updates.

What is interesting for players, fans and critics alike is the announcement of further performance patches that will be made available for the release of Beach Properties for Cities: Skylines 2. Specifically, we are talking about “performance updates and general corrections and improvements”. The developers are primarily hoping for optimizations for entry-level PCs. The corresponding patch notes will then be published next Monday with the new asset pack.
