Colorful has introduced the B760M iGame Ultra Z motherboard based on the Intel B760 chipset for 12th, 13th and 14th generation Intel Core processors. The key feature of the new Micro-ATX format product is the main power connectors moved to the reverse side. Previously, the manufacturer released several models of video cards with hidden power connectors.
The Colorful board does not have all the connectors hidden on the back side, but only for power supply, as well as for connecting fans. The SATA ports have also been moved there. Connectors for connecting RGB lighting, USB ports and a CMOS battery are located on the familiar front side of the B760M iGame Ultra Z.
The new product is based on a 14-phase VRM power subsystem with a 12+1+1 phase diagram. This configuration is quite sufficient for flagship Core i9-level processors.
The board claims to support RAM at speeds of up to 7200 MT/s via overclocking profiles. The new product also offers three M.2 2280 slots for PCIe 4.0 x4 solid-state drives, one PCIe 5.0 x16 for a video card and one PCIe 3.0 x4 for additional peripherals.
The Colorful B760M iGame Ultra Z motherboard costs 1199 yuan (about $167). This is a very advantageous offer, especially considering that the peculiarity of the location of the power connectors on the reverse side is so far most often found only in more expensive board models, such as the recently released Asus Z790 ROG Maximus BTF Hero costing 800 euros. However, before purchasing such boards, the user must make sure that the PC case supports the installation of boards with rear connectors.
