Tactics or melancholy? In Europe, when the Wii launched, Nintendo left the racing field to other manufacturers such as Ubisoft or Electronic Arts instead of facing the competition directly, as in the USA. As a result, local gas feet had to stay on for almost three months longer Excite Truck wait, but they may have already exhausted themselves in the other car races and are thirsty for supplies – perhaps not a bad move on Nintendo's part.
The off-road racer is far removed from the glittering big city Need for Speed Carbon or the asphalt racing courses GT Pro Series and transport you into the wilderness: In several natural areas around the globe, the accelerator pedal is pressed hard. No matter whether you're exploring snowy Finland, the tropical Fiji Islands or forested Canada, your goal is always one thing – to outdo the five CPU competitors.
However, it is not enough to simply be the first to see the checkered flag: in order to win, you have to get a minimum number of stars – and the placement only contributes part of this. You get other counters for your daring driving style, for example when you zoom close to trees or do long drifts. It's also worth ramming your competitors hard, turning your vehicle in the air or making daring jumps through floating rings. In addition to four cup series with several races, you can also compete in special challenges: drive through gates as quickly as possible to get valuable bonus seconds or destroy other drivers in an off-road crash derby.
Is controlled Excite Truck exclusively with the remote control, which you like Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam hold it crosswise between both hands. The steering movements are taken over directly, while the buttons are used for gas and brake. Pressing the control pad ignites the turbo, which you can use until the engine overheats – then only caution or driving through a body of water will help you cool down immediately.
