According to the latest data reported by GSD, 16.74 million video games were sold across Europe in February. This is an increase of 21.2% compared to last year, when Hogwarts Legacy was published. However, there is the fact that this year was a leap year.
The biggest game of February was Sony's Helldivers 2, which achieved success beyond expectations. The game was released simultaneously on PC and PS5 and beyond 56% of sales come from PC users. The numbers increased by 70% in the second week, then by more than 3% in the third week. There has been a slight slowdown since then, with sales dropping 28% in the fourth week. Typically, sales of most games decline after a week, with drops ranging between 60 and 80%. After four weeks, Helldivers 2 sales are down by 5% compared to those obtained by Sony's previous blockbuster, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Obviously it should not be forgotten that the Insomniac title was launched at a higher price and was only released on the PS5 console.
EA Sports FC 24 continues to do well and placed in fourth position, while Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth took the lowest step of the podium in third position. Compared to Final Fantasy XVI, released last year, sales at the launch of the new iteration of the JRPG series increased by just under 4%. Another new entry in the ranking is Skull and Bones by Ubisoft, which occupies ninth place. The first three weeks are 30% lower than those of Sea of Thieves in the same period in March 2018. Outside the Top Ten is Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League in twelfth place, and in the top 20 we also find Mario vs Donkey Kong which debuts in fifteenth place and Pacific Drive comes in eighteenth place. It's also worth pointing out that Palworldwhich achieved great results in February, is not included in this data as the developer is not monitored by GSD.
They are Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Nintendo Video Game – Italian Ed. – Versi is one of today's best sellers.
