According to Vivo, the test was carried out in Campinas between March 10th and 17th. In it, the operator managed to reach download peaks of 6.7 Gbps and an average speed of 5.5 Gbps, the highest ever recorded on a Vivo network in Brazil via mobile data.
For this, the operator used 600MHz, of the 26GHz band in millimeter waves, added to 100MHz of the 3.5GHz spectrum to total 700MHz of band.
Vivo's expectation is that this combination of high-speed networks will allow industry, entertainment and services sectors to offer new solutions to people with resources such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, smart city projects, RedCap (5G CPE with reduced) and passive Internet of Things (IoT).
More testing is still needed before the new technology is widely rolled out to users, but this is an incredible opportunity to expand the quality of 5G in Brazil, a network that has helped reduce the rate of user complaints about the use of mobile data.
