If there are several copies of the game in the family library, then several people can run it at the same time.
Steam developers have redesigned the family viewing system and Steam Family Sharing. They will be replaced by family groups, allowing family members to share game libraries with each other and simplifying access to them.
A family group can consist of up to 5 people. All family group members have access to all games in the group members' libraries. A group member can start a game from another group member's library, even if they are playing something. If group members have multiple copies one game, then several members of the group will be able to run it simultaneously. When playing a copy of another member of the family group, the player will create his own saves and receive achievements on his account.
There are several important points. First, game developers can disable the ability to share their projects in family groups. Secondly, if a group member is banned in a game owned by another user, then the ban will apply to him.
At the same time, Steam developers updated the parental control system: now you can track the activity of children and limit their playing time. It is also possible to block access to Steam features and allow access to certain games.
For now, the new family groups and parental controls are only available in the Steam beta.
