Honda has just announced an impressive discount of 12,800 euros for its new electric car, the e:NY1. Prices now start at 32,900 euros, instead of 45,700 euros a few hours ago. But you will have to hurry, because the discount is only temporary.
Honda e:Ny1 2023
The Honda e:NY1 is the new electric car from the Japanese manufacturer. We were able to try it a few weeks ago. It's a good electric car, but with a price totally disconnected from reality. The good news is that Honda has just slashed the price of its e:NY1 in France, as we learn from the recently published press release.
12,800 euros discount
In detail, Honda is offering a fairly incredible discount of 12,800 euros on the two finishes (Advance and Executive). Enough to drop the prices to respectively 34,900 and 32,900 euros instead of the 47,700 and 45,700 euros usually demanded by dealers. Be careful, however: due to its Japanese manufacture, the Honda e:NY1 is not entitled to the ecological bonus of 4,000 euros.
This new discounted rate is valid from March 19 to June 30, 2024. Enough to give potential customers enough time to checkout. This extraordinary discount over such a long period of time proves an admission of weakness on the part of the Japanese manufacturer.

No wonder, because the competition is tough. The Tesla Model Y is available from 42,990 euros (and is entitled to the bonus). Volkswagen, for its part, has dropped the prices of its ID.4. And at Renault, the new electric Scenic E-Tech clearly overshadows Honda's compact SUV.
And after June 2024?
So it seems that Honda wants to build volume and is using this discount to increase the number of e:NY1s in circulation to raise awareness of the model. But it is difficult to imagine a recovery in prices after June 30, 2024. Unless Honda France manages to sell by then the number of examples that were planned for France in 2024.
