The start of the season is now scheduled for May 14.
The Diablo IV team has decided to delay the start of the fourth season by a month. The postponement of the season was announced during the Diablo IV Campfire stream, dedicated to the content of the fourth season.
Now the season starts not at the beginning of April, but on May 14, 2024. The developers decided to postpone the season in order to properly test it: the test server will go live on April 2 and will be available throughout the week.
In the fourth season, Blizzard Entertainment plans to refine the loot system: items will drop less frequently, but their quality will increase. In addition, many unused affixes will be removed from the game.
The number of affixes for a number of items will be reduced. For example, rare items will have two affixes (now there are four), while legendary items will have three affixes (now there are also four).
The developers will also adjust item drops at levels 3 and 4 of the world, rebalance stronger affixes, simplify and at the same time strengthen gems, and rework the crafting system.
A full list of changes related to the fourth season will be published closer to its release. The developers did not specify whether the fourth season will be shortened in time or whether all seasons will now be released a month later relative to the previous schedule.
