Returning from the epic journey undertaken to give shape to our review of Dragon's Dogma 2, we re-immerse ourselves in the atmosphere of Capcom's role-playing action odyssey to provide you with all the information on the longevity of the new fantasy experience signed by the authors following Hideaki Itsuno.
The disproportionate amount of content poured by Capcom into the medieval universe of Dragon's Dogma 2, on the other hand, requires more than a reflection on the time necessary to complete the playful and narrative path traced by Itsuno and companions to shape the kaleidoscope of activities quests, random events, optional dungeons and quests from Dragon's Dogma 2's emerging open world.
The progression system developed by the Japanese developers, moreover, makes it practically impossible to speed up movements, a significant detail that contributes to further extending the perimeter and longevity of an interactive work that requires its time, and a certain 'respect' on the part of the players, in order to be fully explored.
Just searching for an optional dungeon in Dragon's Dogma 2, and the subsequent exploration of the secondary area, can take more hours than it takes to complete an indie video game or a more linear action experience: this is enough to get an idea of the scope of content to enjoy, and slowly discover, in Capcom's role-playing adventure.
Those who fear an excessively broad and 'diluted' open world experience should know, however, that in Dragon's Dogma 2 each content fits into a much tighter schemedepending on the relatively small size of a (albeit very rich) free roaming map and a scenario which, despite guarding an infinite number of secrets, let the players decide what to do.
Having made the necessary balance between the free roaming activities and the progression of the main story, the average longevity of Dragon's Dogma 2 should be around 35 hours, enough time to allow users to complete the first run and complete the so-called 'main quest'. Those who want to discover everything this ambitious RPG has to offer, however, will have to arm themselves with great patience and spend an almost infinite number of sleepless nights in the hope of revealing all the secrets of the map and mastering every skill, combat technique and strategy to be implemented. with the Arisen and its Pawns.
