The set includes legendary creatures from the game, such as the myconids, beholder, displaced beast and huge red dragon.
Lego has finally revealed the 3,745-piece Dungeons & Dragons set, developed in collaboration with Wizards of the Coast (the company that has been making the board game since 1997). The construction set costs $360, and pre-orders can be placed in early April at the Lego Store (for Lego Insiders from April 1, for others – from April 4).
The Dungeons & Dragons building set is based on a design by Lucas Bolt that was approved in January as part of the Lego Ideas competition. The set includes a riverside inn located near an ancient fortress, along with a watchtower and a dungeon. The Lego Design team recreated the original Bolt model, but added removable roofs and a few extra parts.
There are six Lego minifigures in total: an Orc Rogue, a Dwarf Fighter, an Elf Wizard, a Dwarf Cleric, a Dragonborn Bard and a Human Villain (the minifigure-only set will be available in the autumn). You can also build monsters from Lego bricks – skeletons, an owlbear, a displaced beast, a gelatinous cube, of course a large red dragon and other creatures.
Lego will also be releasing an adventure book that can be used during play, available on April 1 in both physical and digital formats.
