Respawn Entertainment studio for the first time commented hacking several Apex Legends eSports players during matches. The attackers launched cheats on players’ PCs, and their use was broadcast live.
Apex Legends developers noted that the safety of the game and players is the highest priority for the studio. Therefore, Respawn has postponed the championship and is preparing a series of patches to improve the security of Apex Legends.
The first of these updates has already been released, and the developers plan to release several more patches. Respawn's statement did not say when they will be released.
In addition, the Apex Legends developers did not discuss how hackers managed to hack eSports players. It was assumed that the vulnerability was found in the anti-cheat Easy Anti-Cheat, but its team denied the existence of the exploit.
There is no word on when the Apex Legends championship will resume.
