Blizzard Entertainment announced that season four will be released significantly later than planned. PC players can test the planned changes in detail beforehand.
In yesterday “Campfire Chat“-Livestream several developers spoke about the future of “Diablo 4”.
Unfortunately there is bad news for the fans: Season four starts significantly later than expected. Instead of April 16th, the next round doesn't start until May 14th. So you have to wait a month longer than originally planned.
At least this gives players even more time to level up the Battle Pass. However, some of them are a bit disappointed because they have already lost interest in the current season.
Public Test Realm returns
The main reason for the delay is the return of the Public Test Realm. Between April 2nd and 9th, PC players will have the opportunity to test the upcoming changes via Battle.net.
What changes are planned? Items are dropped that have fewer but more relevant affixes. In addition, the affixes themselves should be more effective. World tier three drops will be “Sacred” only and tier four will be “Ancestral” only. Furthermore, the gold costs for magical items should be limited. Otherwise, the development team puts the crafting materials and herbs together.
You can probably collect many uniques in WT one and two. Even the extreme Uber Uniques are now possible before level 55 – with the current upper limit of 925 strength points.
New proprietary systems also come into play. This includes a crafting system that allows you to add affixes to legendary items. A new item type is called “Tempering Manual”, which can also be used to add affixes to items.
Masterworking, on the other hand, allows you to improve items in the late game. If you find something you particularly like, you can further improve the affixes. You can progress through twelve ranks, and every four ranks you will greatly improve an affix.
All of these changes are available in testing. Further information will follow next week.
By the way, “Diablo 4” will be coming to Xbox Game Pass in a week:
The action role-playing game from Blizzard has been available for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC since June 5, 2023.
